If you live in NYC you may have noticed the dog walkers on the Upper East Side, the Village and even in Midtown. You know, the ones that walk a group of dogs on leashes? Where do all of these dogs live? Who are their owners? You may not know that there is a body of law which governs the rights of pet owners to keep their pets in their apartments. There is not an absolute rule that provides that people can keep and maintain pets in their homes.
I have represented pet owners and landlords and I have negotiated settlements so that pet owners can keep their pets when the law isn’t clear. I was recently interviewed on a weekly program called “Coffee Break With Sabra” which just launched its new website platform on “The Rights of Pet Owners to Keep Pets in Their Apartment”. As a real estate attorney, I hear of many myths that people believe about pets and their rights. So, if you are a pet owner or are planning to be one, then you will want to learn as much as you can about this topic, and my interview would be a good place to start.
During my interview on The Rights of Pet Owners to Keep Pets in Their Apartment, you will learn:
- About the applicable law and statutes
- About the prevalence of dog eviction cases
- A typical outcome
- Common types of situations which lead to dog eviction cases
- What you as a tenant can do to avoid eviction
I invite you to listen to my interview by signing up here. Just visit the site any time and you can get access to my interview as well as others who have been on the program. I’m so excited to be in good company of so many experts.
